I was playing a revamped version of the old BigBlue counter deck that was popular a few months ago.... heres the deck Counters 4 Forces of Will 2 Forbid 2 Dissapates 4 Counterspell Utility 3 Impulse 2 Whipers of the Muse 2 Equlibrium 2 Curiosity 2 Legacys Allure Creatures 3 Wall of Tears 3 Man o War 3 Suq Ata Firewalkers 2 Silver Wvyern 2 Ophies 2 Tradewind Riders Artifacts 1 Serrated Arrows 1 Erratic Portal Land 3 Svlunite Temples 1 Rootwater Depths 1 Thalakos Lowlands 2 Quicksands 2 Wastelands 13 Islands Sideboard 2 Dream Tides 2 Propaganda 2 Slights of Mind 1 Tormods Crypt 1 Phyrxian Furnace 3 Chill 2 Hydroblast 2 Teferi's Realm We were playing double elim with 1hr 15 min time limit 1st Round Bull something (thats what he calls himself hehe) He was playing a RAT DECK.... heh no really he was. And he gave me about the most problems all day because of one card Gravepact. Well anyway first game he gets out some rats then a Gravepact and smacks me down to about 10 or so then I draw my tradewind to go along with the wall of tears and suq ata firewalker I have...next turn throw the gravepact in his hand.. its a pinger death for him after that. Second game see first. 2nd Round Charles Kerckanick (good Friend of mine) Playing a WW. I didnt thing my deck would have much of a problem with white weenie and I was right 2nd turn Wall of Tears 3rd turn Suq Ata and Force his Crusade... game over. 2nd game I get out the Equilibrium with a man o war and he never gets any more creatures on the board.. The Silver Wvyern Does his job. 3rd Round ANOTHER WW WOO HOO First game he gets me to about 6 while my wall of tears puts a creature back in his hand every turn. I then put out my Erratic Portal... between the portal and the wall he cant keep creatures on the board.. Sliver Wvyern saves the day. 2nd game dont remember but I won. 4th Round dont remember name He was playing a Tim deck.. first game he puts out a 3rd turn mundungo ??? Im Mana-Screwed for the first time all day and I cant get around the mundungo when he puts out a second.. cant draw an allure either.. oh well I die Big Tim Death...2nd game I side in Dream Tides in case he gets the tims out and going but what happens is I draw an allure put it out second turn and he cant play a tim for the rest of the game cuz Ill steal it. I put out my Suq Ata and ping HIM to death... MUHAHAHAHAHA 3rd Game I forgot to side in the slights last game so I do now, and it proves to win me the game. 4th turn I put out a Suq Ata and slight it as it is coming itnto play to say Cannot be the target of blue spells or effects.. Im sure you can imagin what this did to his deck... I win.... Im the last of the winners so I have to wait for the losers bracket to finish. so I sit around for a while. Finals for a Beta Lotus!! Ryan Newman Playing a 4csomething has all the cool creatures Wildfire in red.. Serra in White.. Ehrnam in Green.. and blue for counters.. 1st Game he gets out a 4th turn ernie I put out a 4th turn serrated and serrate his ernie so it wont kill my wall o tears when it blocks.. do this 3 times before I can counter it.. after that I put out a equlibrium and have a man o war in my hand.. he cant keep a creature on the board as I can outcounter him and put the creature back in his hand with the Equlib and man o war combo.. Silver Wyvern kills him 2nd Game he overuns me as im am land screwed 3rd game Goes like the first pretty much cept I get the erratic Portal and it rules the day.. all his creature cost 2 more so he cant really counter anything I do...
