This is my first time writing to the Dojo, so please bear with me. This started off as a typical tournament day (1 hour of sleep ) and a long drive to Columbus, and no clue of what I was going to see, I and the guys I went with talked about the new effects and on the drive, and had little knowledge of the cards we would see. Sitting down at the deck reg. I got a first look at the new cards, and didn’t know what to think. this was A 9 round swiss turnament with 297 partisipants (i think). I’m not an enchantment type person, and there was a LOT of them out there. After a short time, I got my deck. First look was not to good, I had a lot of black, but only five black creatures, I had very bad blue. My red was ok, I had 2 Heat rays, and a couple random creatures. I had a Pegasus Charger, and a pair of Healing slaves, a Clear, a Monk Realist, an Opal Gargoyle, an Opal Carytid, and a Worship (Good Stuff ). Green wasn’t too bad either Elvish Lyrist, an Hidden Stage, a pair of Priest of Titania, a Cradle Guard, a pair of Treetop Rangers (Awesome creature), a Bull Hippo, And a Rejuvenate. I had 3 Artifacts, but one was the all mighty Pyrexian Processor , this was a key card in my deck to make up for my weaker creature base. Since we are using the Turnamate Decks, I decided I would have to go 2 colors with a splash of another, I wanted to go 17 lands ( Just preffrence) and I had a cycle white land so I felt ok with Green White, splashing Red. So my initial deck is as follows:

Green

Elven Lyrist
Hidden Gruerrillas
Hidden Stage
Priest of Titanin x2
Cradle Guard
Treetop Rangers x2
Bull Hippo
Argothian Swine
Rejuvenate

White

Clear
Opal Gargoyle
Opal Carytid
Healing Slave x2
Disciple of Law
Monk Realist
Pegasus Charger

Red

Heat ray x2

Artifact & Land

Phyrexian Processor ( Key card in most games)
Crystal Chimes
Drifting Medow
Mountains x4
Plains x6
Forest x6

Side Board (only used cards)

Worship (Brain Fart, This should have been main deck, the lack of creature removal made it Powerful)
Silent Attendant
Serra’s Hymn
Rune of protection: Artifact
Guma

Well I felt I had a five and four deck, or maybe a five, three, and one deck. As the day went on I felt better and better behind the all mighty Pyrexian Processor. All the decks I played aginst were either White Green, splashed Red or White Green, splashed Blue. Then every deck had it own special Random Rare or Uncommon that gave it a kick. Ill just go through and highlight a few things I remember vividly (It was nine rounds, and I was tired so I apoligize for not mentioning the names of my opponets, I’m not good with names.)

Match 1:
Game 1: First game I get a 4 turn Pyrexian Processor out, I was still at 20 life, so I play gutsy and say 10 life, the next 4 turns I crank out a 10/10 creature and proceeded to serve a beating.
Game 2: Pretty much the same thing 4 or 5 turn Processor, and its game.
1 and 0

Match 2:
Game 1: This was a match up aginst a bit of counter magic, and a few big flyers (Blue sleeper enchantments). First game is slow, and I get out my Cradle Guard , and do a little traded beating, I get a few more creatures , and continue to attack eventually he gets out The 6/6 Echo wurm , and halts my attack. Next turn I pop out the processor, and say 8 life. Few turns later it was game.
Game 2: Another 4th or fifth turn Processor, nuf said.
2 and 0

Match 3:
I was really needing Mt. Dew during this match, and don’t remember much, I won the first game, I should have Parised the second game, and lost almost making a come back form 6 life, after waiting 8 turns on a forest, and then I won game three pretty easily.
3 and 0

Match 4:
Game 1: I started out fast, second turn elf, third turn Cradle Guard, fourth turn Treetop Rangers, My opponet kept blocking my assaults and I wasn’t doing much damage. I was leaving my Guard back to block. Then my opponet popped out the all mighty Serra Avantar, and was at about 16 life !!! I had to think a second, and decided I had to kill him, not it, so I proceeded to cast another Treetop Ranger and my Pegasus Charger, and attack with my evasion creatures, while chump blocking his Avantar. Eventually I win that game.
Game 2: 4th Turn Processor … Done
4 and 0

Match 5
Game 1: Opening draw was 3 lands an elf, and the Processor, and a few random cards, I went first, second turn elf, third turn Processor (10 life). 4th turn 10/10, 5th turn 10/10 … Game
Game2: Not a great draw, I should have Parised, but I didn’t, and couldn’t get that second Forest, and he got an early Pestelence, and then the 6/6 Echo Wurm , and it was pretty much game.
Game 3:Again not a great draw, I servers a good early beating, but couldn’t draw the Processor, and he got a Pestelence early again, and slowly gained control of the game. ARGHHH!
4 and 1

Match 6
Game 1: Good fast draw, early Treetop Rangers, and a Cradle Guard, then the Processor. I think I said 8 life, but I’m not too sure, I started to gain control, and he popped out an Opal Archangel. Miss reading it I thought it said any spell, and I waited a turn, with a clear in my hand. Rereading the card, I say it was only creatures and then proceeded to cast my Clear, and eventually win.
Game 2: Again the fast Creature assault was there, and quickly we both lowered each other into a low life range, on his turn he could attack with all his creatures and kill me by one point, and he attacked, and I healing slaved my self to gain 3 life. Then on my turn attacked for the game. After the game he showed me the lighting Dragon in his hand, and the lack of a second mountain on the board!
5 and 1

Match 7
Game 1: This was a very strong Creature deck with a few (at least 3 counters.) First game was just beatings, we exchanged blows and soon I was in range for him to kill me, and he had the creatures on the board to do it. All he had to do was pay the upkeep on his critter, I said done. He untapped and drew his card, I then said “ You didn’t pay you upkeep, that creature is buried.” I felt bad, but it was a rookie mistake as he ammited. And on the next turn I attacked for the kill.
Game 2: This was a long drawn out game where he got his Dijin Out and was defending with it, and just sending his Treetop Ranger, the last three creatures I tried to play were countered, one Power Sink, ands two of the new four Blue counter. He won by creatures.
Game 3: I had a good fast draw, and he gambled with a ok draw, he lost his gamble and didn’t draw the 3rd land soon enough, and I won from just a good fast attack, and a later Bull Hippo, and a Guma.
6 and 1

Match 8
Game1: Ok this was the fastest Sealed deck weenie land destruction deck I have ever seen…. Actually it is the only one I have seen, but it was very good. First game he got out the first turn 2/2 green cat. And second turn the 2/2 goblin, and he proceeded to give me a trashing, I eventually got out a Pegasus charger, and Heat Rayed a Critter. We got in a standoff, and he Rain of Salted (I think that’s it) my two Mountains, Then on his next turn cast Wildfire! I was down to one land and he the same. But I had held two lands in my hand as bluffs, and it paid off, I got a Elven Lyrist out and started the elf beat-down. He eventually got a goblin Matron out and was serving back to me. I was at 2 life and him at 3, I had no blockers open, so on his turn he attacks with his 2/2. I Healing slaved, and lived. Draw… I top-decked a Heat Ray and killed his Goblin, then a few turns later I attacked for the kill.
Game 2: This was the most intense game I played all day. He opened fast again, and got out a Dragon Blood, and a Regenerator, and the black flying 1/1 that gets +2/0 when attacking. Late game He attackers me putting me to three life, him still at 16, I had creatures out but I couldn’t use them, one do to a paicfasim, and others had to block. On my turn I Drew my Worship, I Grin and cast it out. Holding a healing slave in my hand, and knowing he had not played his wildfire yet, I was on deffence. I drew a Heat Ray a few turns later and killed his only flyer. This allowed me to start attacking with my Pegasus Charger, and a later Treetop Ranger. Few more turns he cast a Jagged Lighting, and forced me to healing Slave a creature, now I had only the Treetop ranger as an offence and no way to save any of my creatures if he cast Wildfire. When I got him down to two he, drew a pacsfaism and stopped my Treetop Ranger, Next turn Draw… Treetop Ranger !!! YES I cast it out, and wait to see if he can draw the Wildfire. He draws and says Congradulations. The game ended with him only having 6 cards in his deck, and I had only 8 left my self.
7 and 1

Match 9:
There were 6 people at 7 and 1 , and none of thee others could catch us, so all six of us Drew.
7, 1 and 1

Well 2nd place is good for a change. The tournament went pretty smoothly and this was one of the best tournaments that Andon has done. Ursa’s Saga is a Good set, and its nice to see some very different and new aspects to the game.

Sorry for any Spelling and Grammatical Errors, I’m a CIS major!
