Up, back, and round again - Zack Weintraub

November Semifinalists

Notes: Boy does this deck work well. Meta-gamed against heavy creature decks, this deck has little to fear in the Tempest only environment. First Strike, pingers, 1/4 flyers, and propaganda all halt the creature rush, while it slowly plinks away at its opponent's life. Plenty of countermagic keeps real dangers, such as Humility, Grindstone, and land destruction away. Pop something back to their hand with a Capsize or Tradewind, then Lobotomy them. They cast a Sgranoth? No sweat. Just boomerang their other creatures, then Edict it away. Or block with the Seer, return it to your hand, and draw a card :) The extinctions and Living Deaths in the sideboard all hurt the Slivers, token decks, and plain biggies, as they won't have a lot in their graveyard (tokens don't go to the grave, Lobotomy removes from game, and Tradewinds return to their hand). Chills hold off mono-red and Sligh type decks, so I can start a Capsize Recursion before they can get to 5 land. Dread of Night hurts the white weenies that are hard to return as fast as they are cast, and Banishings are just generally useful against bigins.
