Subject: Scroll Rack in T2 Date: Tue, 11 Nov 1997 14:31:18 -0500 From: Jeremy Friesen Scroll Rack with Goofy Gaea is a little obscene For Example: (from the Library of Dominia) Deck by Crovax 2 Scroll Rack 3 Thran Tome 1 Jalum Tome 4 Incinerates 2 Kaervek's Torch 3 Aether Flash (Perhaps 2 and 1 EarthQuake) 3 Creeping Molds 2 Disenchants 4 Gaea's Blessing (Selective Cane Cantrip!!!) 4 Harrow (Perhaps 2 and 2 Rampants) 2 Sylvan Library 1 Preferred Selection 3 Wrath of God 3 Gerrards Wisdom 1 Island Sanctuary The power of recursion is obvious but what if they wise up and save counters to stop your Gaea's blessing? Solution: Stack your library via your Scroll Rack or Sylvan library until the top three cards are 3 Gaea's Blessing. Then Thran Tome and you get 2 Blessings and a free Feldon's Cane. I had my opponent nearly weep when he realized he had be saving 5 counters for nothing. So the lesson is, you need ways to remove the top cards after you've Scroll Racked. Some choices: Rowen Thran Tome Nature's Lore, Rampant Growth, Harrow, Sac&Search Lands, Tithe Petra Shpinx (Non-T2), Vexing Arcanix, Land Tax Vision Charm, Millstone, Grindstone (be careful how you set this up ;) Song of Blood (Could be +4/+0 land) Chaos Harlequin Polymorph? Anyway, Scroll Rack is a strong card early in the Game, it is a reusable Portence. Mix a couple combo cards and Draw Power. Jeremy Friesen jeremynf@goshen.edu
