Subject: r/g/u extended deck Date: Wed, 29 Oct 97 21:13:13 UT From: "Dennis Anderson" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com hey, here's a deck i've been trying out occaisionally for extended...I wanted to submit it and see if anyone could offer tips on it. here goes: RED: 4x Sudden Impact 4x Lightning Bolt 2x Hammer of Bogardan 2x Earthquake 1x Fork GREEN: 4x Storm Seeker 4x Birds of Paradise BLUE: 4x Man o' War 4x Arcane Denial 2x Prosperity GOLD: 3x Stormbind ARTIFACT: 4x Howling Mine 1x Bosium Strip LAND: 4x Taiga 4x Tropical Island 4x Volcanic Island 4x Gemstone Mine 2x Mishra's Factory 2x Mountain The basic idea should be pretty clear: get out the Howling Mines, and use the Storm Seekers and Sudden Impacts to beat up on your opponent. At the same time, use the many cards you will be drawing to power the Stormbind. The Earthquakes, Bolts and Hammers are for keeping creature swarms at bay, and can also be used to push your opponent into range of a 7-8 point Seeker/Impact. The Man o' Wars serve as creature control, and can get you that extra point of damage out of a Seeker/Impact. The Bosium Strip works well, since it can affect over 1/3 of my deck. The most impressive way to off your opponent is to Prosperity for a few cards, dump extras into the stormbind to damage your opponent, then hit them with a Seeker/Impact right after they draw (hopefully 2-3 cards, with Howling Mines out). One of my favorite plays was when my opponent cast Meditate to draw four cards...So on both of my turns i hit him with a storm seeker. Made him think twice about that card...At any rate, it does fairly well so far in testing, but i'd like some input. Many thanks! --Aaron Blake (Dennis Anderson is my boss...this is the email account at work) image_signs@classic.msn.com
