This deck was made by me and some of my friends last weekend and it uses some cards from Urza’s saga. This deck is pretty much a Black Weenie but it is even faster than the old decks! The deck is all about speed and there is no deck that I have met that can stop it. I call the deck SPEEDY B!

I used this deck to win a local tournament here in Sweden last weekend. The format of the tournament was the new Type 2. My matchrecord in the tournament was 10-0 and I lost a total of 3 duels, all against White Weenie decks!

4 Dauthi Horror
2 Dauthi Slayer
2 Knight of Stromgald

4 Dark Ritual
4 Diabolic Edict, to remove blocker turn two.
4 Cursed Scroll
4 Bad Moon, very good against Legacy’s Allure.
1 Terror, I was afraid of Tradewind decks, don’t ask me why!
1 Persecute, kills a lot of decks turn two.
1 Ill-Gotten Gains, same as above.

1 Volrath’s Stronghold, I only used it once or twice!
2 Polluted Mire, cycling!
18 Swamps

Sideboard
4 Nevinyrral’s disk
4 Gloom
4 Perish
2 Wasteland
1 Terror

In most of my matches I did not use my sideboard.

I playtested the deck with Hatred but I never had the chance to use it so why have it in the deck? I do not want to sit with Hatred in my hand when I can not play it. In my opinion Hatred is not good with Cursed Scroll!

Priest of Gix is one of the best cards in the deck! This is how it works:
First turn:
Swamp
Dark ritual
Priest of Gix
Play one or two more creatures, it doesn’t matter if you take some mana burn!

Turn two:
Play Bad Moon or Diabolic Edict
ATTACK

If you can use Persecute or Ill-Gotten Gains on turn two, do it! If the spell gets through you will win!!!!!!!

The best thing with the deck is that you are ahead of the opponent all the time. It doesn’t matter if you or your opponent starts playing, Priest of Gix solves all problems for you!!!! Priest of Gix is good even later in the game becuase it helps you to empty your hand so you can use Cursed Scroll.

In the last duel of the final I got the perfect draw and it looked something like this:
Turn one:
Swamp
Dark Ritual
Priest of Gix
Priest of Gix
Knight of Stromgald
I used the last black mana to pump the Knight to avoid manaburn.

Turn two:
Swamp
Bad Moon
Attack for NINE points of damage!!!

Turn three
Swamp
Cursed Scroll
Attack for nine points of damage again!!!

Turn four – upkeep phase!
Use Cursed Scroll! Only one card in hand so opponent takes two point of damage – game!

Ok, my opponent didn’t get a blocker in the last duel but I don’t think it had mattered anyway!

Actually I have no idea how to beat this deck! Maybe you can use Energy Field from US to stop the deck but I doubt it!
