“Stasis matters”
Submitted by: Ken Konieczny

This is a deck I made and played at a tournament here in Las Vegas. I finished with a 4-1 record.
Basically, hold out with counter magic until the 5-8 turn and you should have the MoMa-Howling Mine-Stasis lock out. Basically, untap your lands and tap whatever your opponent has that is a threat to you.
This deck is similar to the turbo-stasis deck of the 1996 necro-summer, but the MoMa’s replaced the kismet’s and capsize for disenchant, StP, and boomerang. Also, don’t be afraid to put the lock out without the howling mine as odds are you will eventually draw one or an intuition. In the midgame, capsize w/ buyback is deadly if you have a stasis out. Against slow decks, this will almost always win. D5C almost always fall victim. Oath of Druids w/ Gaea’s blessings is weak against this deck, just don’t let any verdent touches get through. Sligh, suicide black and white weenie is also strong against this deck, therefore, propaganda’s in the sideboard prove strong. Watch for this deck to become stronger after Urza’s Saga is released because of the new counterspell that allows you to untap 4 lands.
