Subject: Green Day Date: 03 Aug 98 18:41:31 +0100 From: "David Eastman" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Frank, This is un update of an earlier Mulch deck, taking into account Exodus and the change in meta game. The basic deck is well tested, the new alterations are too recent for heavy testing. 4 Mulch 4 Wall of Blossoms 4 Sandstorm 4 Llanowar Druid 4 Creeping Mold 3 Arctic Wolves 3 Spike Feeder 3 Constant Mists 2 Gaes Blessing 2 Reclaim 2 Hurricane 1 Natural Spring 1 Unyaro Beesting 1 Waiting in the Weeds 1 Natures Resurgence 18 Forests 2 Quicksands 1 Maze of Shadows Retains the basic Mulch/Mists engine, the sandstorm defence, the Druid/Hurricane route to victory but adds Waiting in the Weeds and Spike Feeders. Any doubt about the usefulness of a 2/2 is removed with Natures Resurgence. The old tendency of the engine to run short on forests during sustained white weenie attacks is reduced by the number of cantrips. Maze of Shadows stops armoured Priests from draining your forests before you can Mold. The sideboard needs to take into account the number of anti-creature cards. Notes ----- Lanowar Druid: Amazing green card that still isn't getting played. Vineyards are nice, but don't offer the Hurricane kill option. Waiting in the Weeds: Took the place of a Disc. Note synergy with Druids. Arctic Wolves: Cantrip makes bounce less of an issue. Armageddon weakness Natures Resurgence: Very likely to have Druids, Wolves and Feeders in the graveyard. This is a 14 creature deck. Reclaim: I disdained this at first, but Reclaim/Mulch allows Quicksand recycling and forced Gaeas recursion. Vitally, allows for a just-in-time mulch when you are being mana starved by Constant Missts.
