Subject: Cheating is not compulsary Date: Wed, 6 May 98 14:28:13 -0400 From: Darren_Copple@avid.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com In the article, Nate states:, I have only had this option about twice total and I'll admit that I made the 'unethical play.' Point is, everyone has been in a similiar situation and done the 'unethical' play at least once or twice.. No one will admit to it because they fear their rep being ruined.. Buy saying that "everyone has done the unethical play, Nate gives himself a very convenient way out. He now does not have to own up to his own responsiblities as a Magic player and as a person. After all, "everyone is doing it". What a load of shit. I will admit that I admire his candor and forthrightness about tackling such a touchy subject. However, by cheating, Nate won the game, but Nate has lost more than he will ever win. Every day he has to look in the mirror and know that he cheated his opponent and even worse himself. He cheated himself of the chance to show his charactor and growing as a person. In the game of life he lost big time. These kind of minor charactor building chances do not come often and he fucked his up. So now Nate gets to be a shallow, irresponsible person. Whew, what a victory. I don't mean to be vicious or hard on Nate, but he put himself into the firing line. I wish him the best of luck in whatever he does. If anyone wants to send flamers, please at least be a little original and not the ubiquitous "fuck you, you suck, blah blah blah". Darren Onwar1@aol.com "Know your enemy, Know yourself" Sun Tzu
