My playtesting was unfortunatly VERY limited. Are there ANY pro players in the Ft. Wayne area, what gives? I did play test against many black varients, Sligh, And prosbloom. (I wish I had done ww and 5cTradewind varients). Ah well 20/20 hindsight. Unlike most people who have done limited playtesting of zwi it does well in the time constraint with a twist. NOTE: I had not one draw.:) Also sorry a head of time with peoples names. This is a week old tourney report and my memories are fading fast. VisionZvi 4 Anscestral memories 4 Meditate 4 mana severance 4 Dream Halls 4 sift 4 intuition 2 impulse 4 counterspell 3 geas blessing 1 vision charm 1 lobotomy 1 inspiration 36 non-mana 24 mana sources(yes I ran tight on mana, but I wanted the impulses and vision charm. 4 Ancient tomb 4 Lotus pedal 2 Crystal vein(Afraid of wastelands) 4 Svelnite temple 10 islands that's it, On with the report. Round 1: vs. ?verdant touchLD Red and Green Not much interferance stuff kinda slow. game 1: I get the combo early but since he keeps tapping out I build up my hand size. Goes off. Cycles for about 15 minutes. The the dreaded unforseen happens. 8 cards in my library. I memories and do not get my blessing. ??? it was my last card. If only my vision charm was in my hand instead of my graveyard. I side out 1 lobotomy, 1 inspiraion, 1 Charm and go for my less time constraining kill. in 1 impulse, 1 bloom, 1 drain. (This is how it wins in time, I don't like them in the main deck, but this way it doesn't seem so bad.) game2 textbook kills game 3 textbook kills Round 2 vs Bob from C&C I think.(5c Tradewind) game1 he keeps blue mana open at all times and by the 3 turn he knows what I am playing by the ancient tomb. I hold my combo in hand because I have no counters, I know he does. the as we both had craploads of mana out he geddens and I can't recover. Now that was stupid me because I was thinking of counterspells, not mana leaks. I could have done it before but stupidity prevailed. game2 see game 1 Round 3 vs 5c tradwind Combo happens easily both games and my opponent is patient and doesn't concede. No prob 75 minute rounds. finist both games in 1 hour(no sideboard quick kill.) Note: I'm not one to flame anyone, however this one time I will make an exception. The guy sitting next to my opponent was a dick. When I sat down I jokingly commented " Everyone with sleeves but me." He says "It's not my fault you want to ruin your cards." What a damn defensive thing to say. It's because of people like you that my freind don't go to Tourneys. Gee It couldn't possible be that Because I can't shuffle as well with sleeves as without. and that turbo zwi require A:a lot of shuffling and B:speed playing to win in time limit. Please try to keep rude comments to yourself. round 4 vs 3cWW? game 1:Textbook kill game 2:I'm in a bad mood already and this gut was complaining about the dojo ruin magic blah, blah, blah... So I decide to toy with him I at like nine, he has enough creatures to do 8 and I have counter in hand so instead of going off on turn 4 I wait a turn to screw with him. (also he has only three mana) He attacks, I go to 1 life. he incinerates, I counter, he pyroblast. Damn I die. See where being a dick gets you. a loss. game 3: No Combo, I die horribly Round 5 vs straight WW game 1: Textbook kill game 2: He gets a quick creature horde and I die with combo next turn game 3: This deck does not like 3 disenchant and 4 Auras of silence, especially a third turn aura. I lose quick. Good opponent though. shows that not all people suck. Round 6: Great guy from kentucky playing stompy We talk and play our games. have so much fun I forget how the games actually went I think he had some emerald charm that did me in. I remember I lost the match. and I drop from the tournement. I play the guy from kentucky for about an hour. Hat's off to kentucky. You guys are great! Sideboard sucks only things of note Quick kill, 2 Mana leaks. n summery. I'm not a very good player. If an actual good player played zwi I think he would do real well. It is Strong, with two impulses it gets more consistant. One last thing IT CAN WIN WITHIN TIME LIMITS OKAY! I Took it to the regionals and never got a draw. -Cory Baker- No Team in Ft. Wayne
