Subject: Regional rapaport(South West Regionals) Date: Sun, 17 May 1998 23:20:38 -0700 From: Jason Guillory To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com The one round wonder undeafeted at This won't be a very long report, but I was a dumbass so I deserve not to write a long report. I was very undecided on what to play at regionals but I finally settled on s stupid beatdown deck that wouldn't cause my head to explode after 8 rounds. I t was a 5csligh deck with flunkies and grangers and cursed scrolls yadda yadda. Any way onto the tournament. Everyone else in my group played this dumb reanimator deck that alan comer same up with. This deck sux.(just kidding alan, your a genius and your decks rule...esp. turbo Xerox.) I probably would've played the deck if I felt like winning. Anyway... Round 1 A straight green deck with nothing special. Game 1 I went first and went first turn Granger, second turn flunkie, third turn flunkie, and gave himn the beating he deserved. Game 2 He went first and layed quicksands and forests. No creatures yet. I kept laying creatures until barrow daddy drove me home. On his last turn I finally saw a creature, Force of Nature, it got terrored. I felt good, talked with my friends about their godzilla(see Brian Seldon's tourny report) experiences. Adam played an 8 year old with 28 counters. He lost. Anyway onto round 2 I sat down across from preston poulter ready to actually test my skill. We got deckchecked, and after 20 minutes a guy came out and told me to go into the room where they were checking decks. to make a long story short, Dan Gray told me I only had 59 cards written down on my decklist. I was sure I counted at least 10 times to make sure I was right. I even counted them in front of him. After three or four times of adding up the cards It was concluded that I missed a card. I forget to write down 1 derelor. He said my deck list describes my deck so therefore I had an illegal deck and was tossed from the tourny. Twenty bucks and a chance at nationals down the drain. Props: Alan dogg-making a deck that gets three people in the top ten of a 200 person tourny. Brian- You finally got what your skill deserves Larry-you too Rindogg- bad deck good playing Adam- gas card's rule you can get a ride to costa anytime San Diego represented at the South West Regionals Slops:Decklists, writting down life with a pen and paper, scrubs who topdeck mogg fanatics in sealed deck, espicially when they don't know how to play.
