Subject: South East Regionals Date: Sun, 17 May 1998 23:43:49 EDT From: CD KD KE To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Hey Frank this is my first dojo report since top 8 at the Atlanta GP. Ive been blessed with a moderate amount of success recantly and finished in the top 8 here at the regionals in Atlanta. This was probably one of the largest turn outs in the states, with over 350+ people and 9 rounds of swiss. My last report spoke of focus that I had put into Limited play, and how that focus finnally payed off with me going to PT NY. Since that time Ive taken that same phylosophy and put it have incorporated it into my type 2 game. I started on the deck that I played in regionals about 3 mo. ago. and people at neutral ground Atlanta did not think much of it. I took it with me to NY and played it in a side T2 event and made it to the finals! I was on to something that was unique and an idea for deck design that was all mine; not something that i just picked up off the DOJO. Ive found its real easy to jump from DOJO deck to DOJO deck looking for one that will finnally bring success. Im writing this to illustrate that a persons success is his or her own and not that of someone else. Also that you dont have to play in the same style that everyone else has.-ANY WAY...... This is the deck the evolved into a top 8 deck at regionals. THE DECKS NAME IS DONAHOE'S NWO (New World Order) Green 1 verdant force 1 stampeeding wildebeests 2 eladamri's vineyard 2 sylvan library 3 birds of paradise 3 mulch 3 uktabi orangutan 3 lhurgoyf 3 natural order 4 spike feeder Artifact 1 scroll rack 4 wall of blossoms (the can go in every deck cant they?) Black 3 living death 2 nekrataal Red 2 firestorm 2 goblin bombbardment Blue 2 tradewind rider White 2 armageddon Land 1 volrath's stronghold 2 wasteland 2 reflecting pool 2 city of brass 2 undiscovered paradise 4 gemstone mine 6 forest The deck can and does play in many different ways but it seems to play itself strangly enough. The sideboard I wont list but just prep to fight control, and enchantments, not to mention a life gain card or 2. This deck again when 7-1-1 took the draw into the final eight and lost in an great battle with Paul Webber. It was in my opion the best match of the final eight and all the people watching would probably agree. Hope some people enjoy playing this or a version of this because it is a fun as hell deck to run. Please send any comments Chris Donahoe my e-mail is CD KD KE @ aol. com Thanks to all who took the time to read this and thanks to the DOJO for giving players a place we all can meet.--Chris
