The Schools of Magic, Jan '97: Other Articles by Rob: Back to the Dojo! |
This
remains the current home of Schools of Magic, a series of articles I began
writing back in 1995. Since then, it has gone through a number of incarnations,
of which this is the latest. It has been broken down into elements, each
covering a specific topic. As such, I have gotten away from the individual
"schools" such as the Weissman or the Kim schools. There are benefits to
this and there are disadvantages, but because the game is changing at such
a rapid pace, I find it impossible to keep up with all of the dramatic changes
occurring in each individual school. Therefore, I will work on adding another section covering a specific deck and how it's built, how it plays, etc. as I have done with the original Schools of Magic while maintaining the central documents -- the section on deckbuilding, on speed, etc. -- as theoretical as possible. As many of you know, I never imagined that Schools of Magic would enjoy the support that it has. It has been hard work, but it's been fun, and it has been more than rewarding. This thing would not be possible without some of the best players in the world revealing their secrets and their strategies, and I hope the same spirit of sharing and cooperation continue in the game. Thank you for your continued interest, apologies for all of the lapses, and... well, that's it for the pontifications! -The Sophist 12/30/96 Schools of Magic by Rob Hahn.
