BANNED AND RESTRICTED ERROR IN THE DUELIST

The DCI(TM) players' organization regrets to announce that the Banned and
Restricted List information appearing in the February 1998 issue of _The
Duelist(R)_ magazine is incorrect. The article, which appears on page 33
of the magazine, announces that Squandered Resources and Frenetic Efreet
are banned in sanctioned Standard (Type II) tournaments. These cards are
in fact *not* banned in the Standard format. The DCI's December 1, 1997
Banned and Restricted List update (Strip Mine restricted in sanctioned
Classic [Type I] tournaments) remains valid and in effect.

The DCI apologizes to all Magic: The Gathering(R) players, judges, and
tournament organizers for this mistake and deeply regrets the confusion
and inconvenience this error caused. Please contact the DCI directly if
