Subject: Sharing my Tradeageddon deck Date: 23 Dec 1997 18:38:19 GMT From: yankees937@aol.com (Yankees937) Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy Below is listed my new concept, an Armageddon/Tradewind Rider lock deck. Beneath that are comments on each card. Blue 4 Propaganda 4 Tradewind Rider 4 Man-o-War White 4 Armageddon Green 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Quirion Ranger 2 Apes of Rath 2 Root Maze Black 4 Vampiric Tutor 2 Diabolic Edict 2 Terror Artifact 4 Winter Orb Lands 1 City of Brass 3 Undiscovered Paradise 2 Underground Sea 3 Plains 9 Forest 1 Island 1 Adarkar Wastes Sideboard 4 Disenchant 2 Uktabi Orangutan 4 Chill 3 Pyroblast 2 Pincher Beetles Propaganda - A great way to slow down creatures. With Winter Orbs, Armageddon, and blue mana, it's a requisite to the deck. Tradewind Rider - After you Armageddon, repeatedly use the LowRider to boomerang your opponent's land as he plays it. Of course it's also good for saving your creatures, holding off an opponent's creature (especially when an Orb is on the table, or before you Geddon), attacking, and a few other uses I won't go into. Man-o-War - Great with Orbs or right before an Armageddon. Birds of Paradise - A necessary source of mana, or to pay the cost on the LowRider. Take your pick. Apes of Rath - A finishing creature. It doesn't matter if you can't untap it once the lock is out. Quirion Ranger - Can help out in any situation - getting an extra green mana, untapping an Apes of Rath, boomeranging a land in response to Armageddon, great with Winter Orb, or Untap a LowRider to attack or block with it. Root Maze - Great stall tactic: 1st turn Maze, 3rd turn Winter Orb. Also, when on the table during a Rider/Armageddon Lock, completes the combination. Vampiric Tutor - I want such-and-such NOW! Diabolic Edict/Terror: Creature elimination is split between the two for variety. Winter Orb - Is this not the most widely used card in Type II? If you haven't played it yet, this is the prime deck to try it in. Sideboard - Disenchants - I don't know, they're just useful. Uktabi Orangutan - Disk = bad Chill - With this and a Propaganda or Orb, slows a Sligh deck to a crawl. City of Solitude - counters Pincher Beetles - creatureless decks I really believe that this deck, with your own personal tailoring to your playing style, can do well at tournaments.
