Subject: Early Turn Force of Nature deck... Date: Fri, 12 Dec 1997 11:58:26 +0100 From: Matt Williams With all this talk of 2nd turn Force of Nature and how to do it, I thought I'd build a deck and give it a few Goldfish tests to see how it performed. Suffice to say, it's proved to so consistently deadly that I think might even play it in a tournament on Sunday. 18 Forest 2 Killer Bees (mana sink for the Vineyard) 3 Harrow 3 Emerald Charm 3 Trained Armodon 4 River Boa 4 Jolrael's Centaur 2 Verdant Force 2 Rootbreaker Wurm 4 Natural Order 4 Llanowar Elves 2 Hurricane 4 Quirion Ranger 2 Force of Nature 4 Eladamri's Vineyard Sideboard: 3 Hall of Gemstone (against anything really, 5CG, Mono-Blue, Mono-Red. Now I know some people will say City of Solitude is a far better card than the HoG but I don't think so. Well, only in certain situations but so many people are playing 4 or 5 colour decks at the moment I think the HoG is a better all round hoser.) 3 Natural Spring (anti-burn) 3 Nev's Disk 4 Whirling Dervish 2 Scragnoth I usually manage to a fattie out by the 3rd or 4th turn. I don't really think a 2nd turn Force of Nature is *that* viable, so I've slowed the deck down a bit so that I can get a few early weenies out. The nice thing about this deck is that, even if the fatties don't come out, it works rather like Stompy (minus the Giant Growths). Of course, I've not played this deck against a real opponent yet so it could fail miserably! Comments as you see fit... Matt
