Subject: My t2 stasis Date: 21 Nov 1997 07:32:41 GMT From: naterenaud@aol.com (NateRenaud) Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy O.K., so I haven't taken this deck to a tourny and the locals say Stasis won't work in the current t2, BUT I''ve been playtesting this for a while against good players and doing well. Of course they always say it's a fluke when I win the first game, but they don't say anything after it's won 5 out of 7. This deck has serious problems against new red(Mog Fanatics, Goblin Bombardment, AND Fireblast YUCK) but I haven't played any side boarded games yet and the addition of a couple Chills and Capsize replacing weenies should make all the difference in the world. The strength of this deck lies in multiple roads to permanent stasis. Then you either deck them (reshuffling with the Intuition/Blessing combo) or beat them down with weenies The worst thing is when I keep drawing blessings first three turns when I need action and I'm getting beat down. Thought about taking some out but they are just to useful most of the time. With 3+ of all the combo cards, Intuition might as well be demonic tutor. The hardest part about running this deck is deciding when to rush into a semi-lock and when to hold out for the real thing. Onother thing, it's always fun to 1st turn Root Maze second turn Stasis without ever letting your opponent have a single mana--it's rare but satisfying. 2 Tradewind Rider 4 Quirion Ranger 1 Quirion Elves 4 Birds of Paradise 3 Wall of Roots 1 Earthcraft 3 Instill Energy 1 Capsize 2 Counerspell 3 Power Sink 1 Prpaganda 4 Stasis 3 Root Maze 2 Sylvan library 3 Intuition 3 Gaea's Blessing 3 Lotus Petals 2 City of Brass 2 Undiscovered Paradises 9 Forests 5 Islands Oh yea, I haven't played a good Necro--that could be a problem with lots of land and hand destruction. Not sure what to sideboard against that. Suggests would be appreciated. Nathan Renaud NateRenaud@aol.com Ld Alain mka Nathan Alain Renaud
