Subject: T2 Deck "Large 5CG" Date: Wed, 05 Nov 1997 23:43:36 -0800 From: Scott West To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com First off...thanks to our Dojo's proprietor for providing us an excellent forum for discussing our little addiction. Thanks also to all the knowledgeable and enthusiastic players who post here and to the newsgroups. And now on to the deck... This is a beatdown/control deck or at least it's my approximation of one. The idea is to put out a large creature, (take your pick...there's lots), armageddon, and then control their creature supply. In practice, I've found that the first creature to cast is Derelor, watch their triumphant face as they kill it somehow and then cast the Maro you were holding. The walls are there to slow down the expected weenie's, the Man-o'-War's fill their usual purpose and the Birds of Paradise/Quirion Ranger mana engine is well-known enough by now. Enough ado...here's the deck: 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Quirion Ranger 3 Wall of Roots 3 Maro 1 Uktabi Orangutang 2 Gaea's Blessing 4 Derelor 2 Terror 4 Man-o'-War 1 Cloud Djinn 1 Inspiration 4 Incinerate 1 Thundermare 3 Armageddon 2 Heavy Balista 1 Cloudchaser Eagle 9 Forest 4 Undiscovered Paradise 4 Gemstone Mine 3 City of Brass Sideboard: 2 City of Solitude 3 Disenchant 2 Hydroblast 2 Knight of the Mists 3 Pyroblast 1 Shadowstorm 1 Terror 1 Tranquil Domain This deck has been winning for me with about an 80% rate...but I don't know yet what my new environment it going to be...so we'll see what happens. (My environment is hardly ever a good reflection of the world at large.) I expect to do badly against Sligh and ProsBloom, but fortunately, I'm the only one around here who plays Sligh and there's only 1 ProsBloom worth mentioning. Eagerly awaiting comments/criticisms.
