Subject: Dojo submission - For Deck Workshop or Tempest areas... Date: Wed, 22 Oct 1997 21:42:29 -0700 From: NBarnes To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com A five color Necrodeck I've been toying with after mulling over the deck Lauer used at PT Chicago. It's for T2, post-Tempest 4 Frenetic Efreets 2 Gerrard's Wisdom 2 Disenchant 2 Memory Lapse 4 Black Knight 4 Knight of Stromgald 4 Drain Life 4 Necropotence 4 Incinerate 4 Kindle 2 Firestorm 4 Undiscovered Paradise 4 Cinder Marsh 3 Rootwater Depths 3 Gemstone Mine 7 Swamp 3 Mountain An aggressive attack deck, not unlike 5cb, with Frenetics to give opponent's removal elements fits. First strking ground creatures help against Stompy. Lots of burn, for finishing moves and to forstall a terminal creature stall. Disenchant for Worbs, Armors, and just about anything. One of the nice things about this environment is the ability to get your rainbow mana without having to take damage for it. All but three of the land give black mana, keeping the Drain Lives nice and wholesome, while not damaging me and still offering the color spread. I'm not sure about either the Wisdoms or the Memory Laspes. The Wisdoms work well with the Necropotences, but require double white. As they are late game cards, that shouldn't be a big problem, but I worry. The Memory Laspes I through in for lack of a better idea, and they will help keep countermagic decks honest, but I'm considering Intuition or Impulse, to make sure I get my Necropotences. Intuition, especially, might work, as I could pull three Necros with it, getting one and taking the other two out of my library so I don't draw them when I likely won't be needing them.
