Subject: [NEW DECK] Flare back! Date: Mon, 20 Oct 1997 15:41:17 +0200 From: Nestor Rodriguez Hi everyone out there. I don't really know why everyone is using braquets for the titles, maybe I've lost something during my holidays, but anyway, I'll start using them too. Today I would like to share with you a deck ida that came to my mind a few weeks ago, with tempest, but first a bit of backgroud history.... A few months ago, a friend of mine, as a result of a joke I told him decided to construct a deck we called flare\browse, based on red\blue, tons of counterpower and burn, finishing either with huge X spells or loop continous. As the name states it centered a lot arround browse and its card advantage, and when it had a\a few Mana flare\s and a browse, it was unstoppable. That deck gave him the ticket to the german national championship this year..... Now that force of will, thawning glaciers, soldevi excavations, browse and digger left (Damn I'll miss the last ones...:'( ) I started to think about something different, that also base on card advantage, and would use mana flares to it's best and i came up with this deck. Basically the deck should work like this, drop a flare, get rid of his threats and finish with a huge DD spell or similar... Now as the best drawing tool have left, I'd like to ty a new version with buyback spells. This is my latest stand, which will have to go throw more testing.... The deck... Main Part of the deck 4 Mana Flare Control 4 Earthquakes 4 Incinerates 2 Capsize (Mana Flare) Card Drawing 4 Meditate (You normally don't do anything during your turn...) 2 Wispers of the muse (Mana Flare) Counter methodes 4 Counterspell 4 Dismiss (again based on the Flare) 2 Dissipate Recursion and manipulation 2 Paradigm Shift 4 Impuls Roads to victory 1 Kravek's Torch 1 Volcanic Geyser 1 Magma Mine (anti Cop red) 1 Snake Basquet (anti cop red) Mana producters 4 quicksands (early defense) 4 Caldera Lake 7 Mountains 9 Islands This is the way the deck looks like at the moment. The only problem I Have at the moment is the fact that it looks a bit sow without the flare, and it is too mana flare dependant. testing will tell if this deck can do something in the next standart tournaments. If anyone is interested in commenting it, I'll be glad to answer questions and suggestions.. I hope you like the posting, and that I can get some feedback from your side, regards...
