Subject: Jinxed Pegasus: New deck idea for Critique Date: Tue, 21 Oct 1997 00:26:51 +0800 From: Crimson Hellkite Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy The idea of this deck is to get out the peacekeeper and/or the bubble matrix and try to keep alive during the 1st few turns. Get out the matrix with tutors and use your creature to block opponent's. With the matrix, creatures receive no damage thus they wont die. Then wait for the peacekeeper to arrive. When there's sufficient mana sources, bring out Sacred Mesa and start producing tokens. Your opponent cant do anything by now since the peacekeeper is out, and he cant get rid of it due to the bubble matrix. Once you have enough tokens finish off your opponent by attacking, and then sac the tokens to the Goblin Bombardment. The Jinxed Idol should speed up the killing(or maybe the jinxed idol might also kill your opponent!!!). Mana helpers: 4 Skyshound Elf 4 Birds of Paradise Blockers: 4 River Boa 4 Ranger En Vec(might replace it for Walls of Roots) Creature Lock: 4 Peacekeeper 4 Respite 2 Bubble Matrix(when its out your creatures can be blockers too) Token Generators: 2 Sacred Mesa 1 Jungle Petrol 1 Caribou Range The Killers: 2 Jinxed Idol 1 Goblin Bombardment Others: 4 Enlightened Tutors 2 Agrivian Find 1 Ashnod's Altar Lands: 12 Forest 4 Quicksand 4 Brushland This deck works best againest creature decks(should see alot of these in the new type 2), and after sideboarding red burn shouldnt be a problem. Turbo and sands of time decks might be a headache, so sideboard must have something againest them. Wrath of God is dangerous, but if the altar is out, the wrath will benefit you more than opponent since U can sac the creatures(when he wrath) to the altar and produce tokens, or maybe sac them to the goblin bombardment. I'm thinking of adding dense foliage to further protect my peacekeeper, and also add mill/grinestones to add in another way of killing my opponent. I dont have a sideboard yet, but I'll probably include warmth againest Red, Aura of Slience againest turbo/sandspoise, City of Solitude againest Blue, and Jester's Cap to get rid of ANYTHING I feel I should get rid of. QUESTION: If I have skyshound elf in play, and someone wrath, can I sac my creatures to Ashnod's Altar, convert the mana to white(thru elf) and then produce tokens using Sacred Mesa? If this does not work, then I'll have to sac the tokens to Goblin Bombardment instead(but I prefer tokens). Any Comments about this deck will be greatly welcomed!
