From: Guest User Subject: Wise Necro,or what I thought of card advantage Date: Mon, 28 Jul 1997 13:59:42 +0100 Folks talk about the doom of Necro decks. Anvil this,Anvil that. Woe is me,cause all I got in mono-black is The Disk to save my heinie. I got sick of this and decided to build something new. Drain Life is the life-grabber for Necro,so mono-black was the solution. Right? Wrong. We have a card-stocker from hell,Necropotence. We have the life-gainer from heaven,Gerrard's Wisdom. We put the two together. Mix in some of the better aspects of both colors. Falcons. Emp. Armor. Pump-knights. Nekrataals. We add a few Dragon Masks, for recursive Nekra-punishment and more cards in hand when it's time to be Wise. Undiscovered Paradise,to control the double and triple mana costs, along with a pair of Glaciers. And these too bounce to the hand, allowing yet more life gains...and a dash of Outposts for spice and annoyance value. Finishing off an opponent with a 10/10 token is simply too fun. Some extra removal for when you need it,including torching your own Necro in need. This is my result: Wise Necro. Artifacts: 2 Dragon Masks White: 2 Aura of Silence 2 Disenchant 4 Duskrider Falcon 2 Empyrial Armors 4 Freewind Falcon 4 Gerrard's Wisdom 2 Order of the White Shield Black: 2 Bone Harvest 2 Contagion 2 Knight of Stromgald 2 Necropotence 4 Nekrataal 2 Vampiric Tutor Land: 8 Plain 8 Swamp 2 Kjeldoran Outpost 2 Thawing Glaciers 4 Undiscovered Paradise No sideboard yet,but it'll likely have Disenchant,Swords, and other such removal. Comments appreciated, preferrably posted here(my mailer is wonky). -Paul T.
