Ok....I have seen a couple of posts lately along the lines of 

"Straightforward decks are the way to go" and "I just realized I suck so 

I need to play simple decks".  Timely, since I am just starting to feel 

the same thing.  I went in a small Type II tourney last weekend.  Played 

a red/blue controllish type counterhammer.  Got pummelled.  Just smacked 

around.  Deck was strong I think, no I'm sure it was.  The problem is 

simply that I'm not skilled enough to play it properly.  I don't use my 

counters efficiently, don't sideboard well, lots of things.  So, along 

with many others, I have decided to go with something a little easier.  

Mono red burn.  Yes, it is cheesy, but it is easy to play and 

besides....I ain't going to the damn tourney to see original decks and 

learn astonishing new combos.  I'm going to try and win some dough and 

stroke my ego.  Let's be realistic.  Furthermore, those ends are best 

served by recognizing my limitations.  I am a chimp, but I will have an 

advantage over other chimps if I accept my chimpness and accomodate it 

rather than trying to pretend otherwise.  More on mono red burn......

I think it resembles the old necro in a few ways.  1)  Always a few, 

maybe lots, of people playing it.  2)  Pretty easy to play and most 

importantly (I think), 3) It always has a chance.  Yes, everyone expects 

to see some and therefore sides against it, but with a decent draw it can 

still win and with a really strong draw virtually nothing can beat it.  

I'll finish by listing the deck and continue the theme of the post by 

asking for help with it......me being a chimp and all.
