Subject: Mind Over Mulch Date: Fri, 11 Sep 1998 11:37:31 PDT From: "Chris Starr" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Mind Over Matter, Oath of Scholars, these two cards just cry out to be abused. I have been toying w/the two of them for a few weeks and I think I have come up with a very powerful rouge deck design: 4 Mind Over Matter 4 Prosperity 4 Mana Leak 4 Disrupt 3 Stasis 3 Dream Halls 3 Dismiss 3 Mana Vault 3 Mulch 3 Reclaim 2 Oath of Scholars 2 Gaea’s Blessing 2 Rainbow Efreet 1 Silver Wyvern 1 Feldon’s Cane 4 Sylvenite Temple 4 Gemstone Mine 3 Lotus Vale 4 Skyshroud Forest 5 Island 2 Forest The main combo in the deck is using MoM to untap one island every turn to pay for the Stasis. The OoS helps this by giving me three more cards every turn to untap my attacking creatures or to tap his permanents. The Dream Halls is in there to get out the MoM faster and to save on cards when casting cheap spells. The deck really starts rolling in one turn, you get out the MoM and then Prosperity by discarding your entire hand(except for other Prosperitys) to untap a Lotus Vale or Mana Vault for a huge Prosperity. Right now I am rethinking the benifits of having Dream Halls because when I Prosperity they get cards to use and chuck. The way to keep from decking myself is simple. Once there is a Gaea's in the graveyard I Reclaim then Mulch it, thus Mulch and Reclaim are cards you try to hold onto, Reclaim is also great just before you Prosperity to get back important cards, like Prosperity. The beatdown is the Wyvern and Rainbows, when you are in total control you should spend the four cards you get each turn, OoS and your draw, to untap one land and the four creatures after they attack. This keeps having to recurse from being a problem. It is fun, but you do spend a lot of time playing w/yourself. Have fun and enjoy! Please e-mail me back w/suggestinons, ideas, comments, critisims, etc. Any help will be appreciated!! ~Chronos ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
