Each card was picked with extra care, so if you have any questions at all, please send me them, and I’ll answer as best I can. Without further ado, here’s the deck: Green 4 Birds of Paradise 4 Survival of the Fittest 4 Hermit Druid 4 Wall of Blossoms 3 Wall of Roots 1 Uktabi Orangutan 1 Cartographer 2 Spike Feeder 1 Spike Weaver 1 Verdant Force Black 1 Thrull Surgeon 1 Dauthi Cutthroat 1 Coffin Queen 4 Recurring Nightmare 1 Nekrataal 1 Spirit of the Night Blue 1 Tradewind Rider Red 1 Orcish Settlers White 1 Cloudchaser Eagle Land 10 Forest 4 Swamp 3 City of Brass 2 Gemstone Mine 2 Volrath’s Stronghold 1 Quicksand 1 Wasteland Sideboard (15) 3 Oath of Ghouls 1 Thrull Surgeon 1 Scragnoth 2 Uktabi Orangutan 1 Spike Feeder 2 Spike Weaver 1 Nekrataal 2 Cloudchaser Eagle 1 Quicksand 1 Wasteland Please note that, quite literally, any card in the game can be dealt with. Artifacts, Enchantments, Creatures, Buyback Spells, Lands, Direct Damage, you name it. Sligh is an autowin with this deck, as 7 walls, recursing quicksands, tutorable fogs and life gain, and incredible fat are too much for even the best sligh to handle. The CMU mono blue deck (if you don't know, its 18 island, 4 stones, 4 qsand, 21 counters, 4 impulse, 4whispers, 4 disk and 1 rainbow)is a strech to beat, as it was designed to crush this deck style, but it shouldn't be too hard. First, you stand a good chance before boarding, because of stronghold/surgeon recursion. But after sideboard, it gets sick. Not only do thay have to find a disk to stop scraggie, but they have to deal with 3 oath, 4 recur, 4 sotf, early mana producers, coffin queen, riders, settlers, orangutans AND stronghold/surgeon madness. By my count, that is more than 21 must counter cards. ouch. Suicide black is a tougher deck to beat. the cutthroat is in to help with that task. early zombies are next to useless with 7 walls floating around, but the shadow is the true threat. The only shadow solutions i have are cutthroat, weaver, and feeder. If I can get off an early survival for a weaver, and start weaving turn 3-4 i could live. note "could". A blazing start will give me fits. So how does the deck do in a mirror match? Well, I can gain stronghold superiority due to my inclusion of a wasteland, plus i have shadow which hurts their whole deck, and i have an extra recursion method in the coffin queen, one that they cannot remove with anything short of firestorm. In addition, i have no dead cards in firestorm or, especially, Living Death. The death will help both players equally, or at least that’s my hope. So what to board? Out with orangutan, 1 WoB, 1 druid and qsand and bring in 2 weavers (to deal with spirit, the one huge weakness), a surgeon and a wasteland. As i said before, the spirit is a huge weakness, as, being a legend, i can't use mine to combat his. Hence, whoever's spirit his the board first will win, unless the other can counter with a weaver. The surgeon came in because taking out the opponents recurs is of extreme importance. If you take out their recurs, that makes your recurs safer because they will be unable to recurse their own surgeons, as you have stronghold superiority via wasteland. Overall, i think this about the best metagamed version of this deck style right now. ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
