Subject: [Deck] Aether Flash in Type II Date: Sun, 21 Jun 1998 13:59:41 +0000 From: Mark Newsgroups: rec.games.trading-cards.magic.strategy IMO, the most overlooked card in Type II is Aether Flash (2RR, enchantment, when a creature comes into play it takes 2 damage). It is the ultimate metagame choice right now (however, I'm not sure how Exodus will change this). Think of all the creatures it shuts down, Birds, the untargetable Centaur, just about every Sligh creature, most of Suicide Black, 187 creatures (sort of), the list just goes on and on. Although it is expensive, the two red especially, I think it's worth it. I came up with a deck to test its effectiveness that is R/G. I'm still not sure if this is the best color pick, but here is a very, repeat very, rough deck. 4 Birds (they die to the Flash but provide the needed mana for it. Diamonds might also work) 4 River Boas (nice weenie that can survive the Flash) 4 Uktabis (they die to the Flash but get rid of the dreaded Scroll) 3 Wall of Blossoms (both walls are strong in the environment) 3 Wall of Roots 2 Maro 2 Lhurgoyf 2 Stampeding Wildebeests 2 Creeping Mold 2 Savage Twister 4 Incinerate 2 Fireball 4 AETHER FLASH 4 Quicksand 2 Mogg Hollows 4 Karplusan Forest 2 Undiscovered Para. 2 Gemstone 5 Forest 3 Mountain Again, R/G doesn't have to be the only choice. R/U with counterspells and Wall of Tears or R/W with protection from red creatures, etc. -- Mark Gebhard gebhard@iag.net
