To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com *deck* I recently made an original deck using unfrequently used cards that I think should reappear back in the tournament scene. I'm not going to spout a paragraph about why each card is in the deck, but I will give a general description. Keep in mind that this was a fun deck, that after playtesting, now stands up to tournament decks that I have tried it against. Sligh will kill it because there are no life-gainers, but isn't that what a sideboard is for? Enjoy. "Cantrip Control" 21x Island (you have to have mana sources, duh!) 4x Nev's Disk (the ULTIMATE in mass destruction. Don't worry about Orangutans, you'll see later.) 3x Steel Golem (One of these guys after a disk is devastating) 4x Counterspell (staple in blue) 4x Dissipate (take care of Blessings and Hammers) 4x Dismiss (Counter? Cantrip? I'll take two.) 2x Rainbow Efreet (3/1 flyer that can't be killed. Not bad. Ducks under disk too) 3x Meditate (not bad for getting card advantage. It will usually get you two counters or a way to get two counters. I may take these out. Any suggestions?) 1x Paradigm Shift (Get back the counters for the lock if you need it. I've only had to cast this once) 4x Portent (Use it to "impulse" but keep the cards on top, or reshuffle the impulsed cards up from the bottom. Cantrip) 3x Impulse (beautiful card) 3x Enervate (Fun card. Works well to tap a Winter Orb or a Tradewind right before you drop something you need. Cantrip) 4x Vision Charm (Key to the deck. Phase out disk after you pop it and it's around next turn. Phase out disk or steel golem to protect them from orangutans, etc. Slow opponent down by changing his land. Mill the tutored card off the top.) How to play: clear the board, beat them down. That's the deck. One thing that happens often is that I have 5 mana, drop a disk. The opponent tries to tradewind it, then you Vision Charm it. Next turn, his game is over. Always appreciate the Vision Charm. Do not just throw it away. Well, let me know how you like the deck. Peace. Dave Bellavance ______________________________________________________ Get Your Private, Free Email at http://www.hotmail.com
