Subject: T2 + Tempest Deck -- Artifact Control Pox Date: Mon, 23 Mar 1998 13:15:06 -0700 From: Matt Stenger To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Frank: Please consider this article for your Stronghold Decks & Commentary section: Artifact Control Pox 4 Pox 4 Legacy's Allure 4 Mana Leak 4 Stupor 4 Steel Golem 4 Bottle Gnomes 4 Scalding Tongs 4 Cursed Scroll 4 Mox Diamond 4 Islands 2 Wasteland 4 Rootwater Depths 7 Swamp 4 Gemstone Mine 3 Reflecting Pool Sideboard: 3 Disenchant 2 Divine Offering 4 Bottomless Pit 4 Evincar's Justice 2 Hydroblast Right now, the sideboard is pretty much to combat the things we already know cause it problems. Disenchants and Offerings for the lack of main deck artifact and enchantment control - and against the deck's most feared enemy; the Disk. Bottomless Pit should cause Blue decks enough of a headache to go along with the first turn Scrolls, Tongs and Allures you should be playing. Most life gaining decks depend on a full hand and are often forced into casting Wisdom with not-enough-cards-to-make-it-worth-it(tm). The mass of Justices should keep 5CX decks off your back for a while, although we haven't tested it's life impact enough. The deck is already pretty well hedged against burn, but a more-direct / less-creature burn could mean some trouble. I'm by no means suggesting this deck is "unbeatable" or "immune" to most decks - but I think if you give it a try you'll be happy. Try it out and get back to me. Your comments are important.
