Subject: Tweeked Sligh Date: Mon, 16 Mar 1998 02:51:07 -0600 From: Christopher Scott Cojocar To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Being a big Sligh player when Stronghold came out I had to throw a few of the new cards in. Not much new things but the deck really doesn't need much tweeking anymore if you ask me. 4 Mogg Fanatics 4 Ironclaw Orcs 4 Mogg Flunkies 3 Fireslinger 4 Suq'ata Lancer 4 Ball Lightning 4 Incinerate 4 Shock 4 Fireblast 1 Goblin Bombardment 3 Cursed Scroll 21 Mountain The turn 2 Flunkies followed by a turn 3 Ball Lightning or Lancer is amazing. Most opponents are completely unprepared for such a fast hit with the Flunkies, they will tend to attack with their creature(s) while you can't block and then take 5 - 9 from the Flunkies and the other attacker. Otherwise the only real change I made was replace Kindles with Shocks and having played for almost two weeks with the deck I can honestly say I don't regret it in the least. I read in someone's report a qoute on Kindle that really sums it up: "3 Kindles = 9 damage? Kinda like a bad bolt if you ask me." Sorry whoever you are for forgetting your name on the quote but it's true. I think the 1cc on the shock over the 2cc on the Kindle can and often does make a difference in the game. Ask yourself on an average game how many Kindles you draw and then ask yourself why you aren't playing with Shock yet. And if your opponent is also playing Kindles then it's really just a lottery and whoever uses the most Kindles first generally loses because his opponent gains more damage out of his. This deck is really just basic Sligh with nothing really off the wall but it works and usually that's all that matters isn't it? Chris Cojocar
