Subject: tournament deck Date: Mon, 9 Feb 1998 21:49:11 +0200 From: "benahron" To: i used this big blue deck to win a sanctioned t2 tournament of about 30 people in israel in the 31st of january. i would have posted a report except i wasn't planning on doing so, and i don't have names. here's the deck anyway: 4 counterspell 4 dissipate 4 dismiss (amazing) 4 lapse (starting to get recognition, still, better then thought by most people). 3 capsize (almost a lock) 1 whispers 4 mow (great as expected) 4 propaganda (good) 2 rainbow efreet 2 air elementals 3 ophidian (card advantage!) 1 legacy 2 sapphire medallion (key card) 1 mind stone (couldn't get another medal-worked well though) 2 quicksands 19 island sideboard: 3 chill 3 hydro 1 dream tides( great) 2 disrupt 3 mist knight 2 steal artifact 1 touchstone the deck worked a lot better then expected since i wasn't confident playing with a deck that is more of a traditional counter deck. play this deck by using counters in early game, mostly, but also in other parts of the game. besides, mow and propa' are great control and capsize is simply incredible here. gain mana advantage with medallions and massive card advantage with dismiss , ophidian and whispers of the muse. for people intrested in what i beat in the tourney(again, sorry for not having names): in swiss: burn 2-0 ww/r 2-0 lost to g/r deck 1-2 elimination: pox 2-0 alurencraft 2-1 (great deck, deserved to win) finals: g/r cool vineyard 2-1 (vineyard gave me easy capsize) well, thats it. for comments, e-mail is: benahron@inter.net.il enjoy, , "DJINN".
