Subject: deck for "decks to beat" Date: Mon, 02 Feb 1998 15:36:36 CET From: "Leroy Hammerstrom" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Hey, I'll just start by saying you've got the best magic page out there. Forget the rest of 'em, you're doing everything right. This deck may not seem too serious at first (I've posted messages about its vulnerabilities) but I believe that now it is fixed. It is a type II sands of time/equipoise deck that without disruption almost always locks by turn four. The deck: White: 4 Equipoise 4 Enlightened Tutor 2 Abeyance 2 Island Sanctuary Blue: 4 Portent 4 Brainstorm 4 Impulse Artifact: 4 Sands of Time 4 Urza's Bauble 4 Barbed Sextant 4 Lotus Petal Land: 4 Svyelunite Temple (spelling?) 4 Ruins of Trokair 4 Crystal Vein 4 Gemstone Mine 4 Ghost Town Sideboard: 4 RootMaze 4 Disenchant 2 Island Sanctuary 3 Havenwood Battleground 2 Abeyance The deck is all about the combo-- it doesn't do anything else. (This lets it beat creature rushes very easily.) The sideboard beats decks that can still cast things with one mana (root maze), decks with artifacts (disenchant), decks with untouchables and prowhite (island sanctuary), and counter decks (abeyance) I haven't seen or heard of another sands of time/equipoise deck that works like mine but the lock is solid and viable. I hope this gets to you before you post the new "decks to beat."
