Subject: hello Date: Tue, 20 Jan 1998 12:35:12 EST From: Nosoup4EEC To: fkusumot@IX.netcom.com Here's another deck brought to you via the Soup Nazi. I was reading the deck posts on 5 color sliver decks, and found that they're too creature oriented. And I also read a message somewhere challenging someone to build a good type 2 sliver deck. Being the sort to take up a challenge, I decided to make a very reputable type 2 sliver deck. It fairs very well (16 wins-4 losses and 5 wins-1 loss in mulitplayer). I plan on using something like it in a local type 2 tourney next month. 5CS Creatures 3xBird of Paradise-need the colored mana 4xMuscle Sliver-the powerhouses 4xMetallic Sliver-1 cc is perfect 2xTalon Sliver-first strike is nice, not necessary though 3xWinged Sliver-flying is great in the type 2 environment 2xMneomic Sliver-replace and slivers on the way to the graveyard 2xClot Sliver-like first strike, regeneration is a bonus, not necessary Spells 1xMemory Lapse-ONLY use in time of CERTAIN death 2xImpulse-get the cards you need 4xIncinerate-creature elimination 3xDiabolic Edict-vs. pro black and black creatures 2xTerror-I still prefer this if opponent has a weenie horde 3xDisenchant-anti enchantment/artifact 2xRespite-amazing card;underrated;very good vs. stompy and sligh Artifacts 3xCursed Scroll-so powerful, could not afford NOT to put it in Lands 4xUndiscovered Paradise 2xCinder Marsh 2xThalakos Lowlands 4xForest 2xSwamp 2xPlains 2xIsland 2xMountain Sideboard 3xEmerald Charm-too many blooms/propogandas running around 3xChill-slows down sligh tremendously 3xMemory Lapse-in case of pros-bloom and other devastating spells 1xEarthquake-vs stompy/ww/necro/sligh 2xImpulse-when you really need to get to a card VERY quickly 2xShatter-not sure if this is worth it, but it will help vs. winter/static orb 1xFireball-game ender just in case The 5CS does not require a horde of slivers to win. On the contrary, you should win with only 2 or 3 out. The deck is designed to handle any early creatures with incinerates/edicts/terrors and knock off any other creatures with cursed scrolls later in the game. It runs a sort of mana curve, the highes cc spell in the deck is the mnemonic sliver at 2U, so you will not get mana screwed, ever. I would have liked to replace the tempest time lands with reflecting pools, just can't seem to get a hold of them. Feel free to send any comments/questions/trash talk my way, I love getting it =) and please feel free to check out my webpage at: http://members.aol.com/Nosoup4EEC/SoupKitchen.html Thanks for reading, The Soup Nazi
