Andrew Marshal (teammate of mine) has a deck called fresh fish that
seems to fit much of what you are describing.

2 Squ-ata firewalkers (the semi-pro red edges out merfolk pinger)
4 Tradewind Riders
1 Waterspout
2 Air Elemental
3 Impulse (quite often used to impulse for land)
2 Nev's Disk
4 Cursed Scrolls
2 Winding Canyons (very important vs control)
18 Islands

Very simple deck, very fast and yet still solid in the late game.

And yet, no one respects merfolk :)
