Subject: Harrow card spotlight Date: Thu, 1 Jan 1998 16:10:35 EST From: Pr Skinner To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Harrow As many tourney players are soon starting to find out, Harrow is one of the better card filters in the environment. When combined with cards such as Eladamri's Vineyard and mana elves, it can quickly sift the land out of your decks so you can get improved card drawing power. What is so great about Harrow is that the lands themselves come in untapped. Thus, it will not cause your opponent to gain any significant advantages in terms of you being tapped out. Harrow works its magic best in Ernhamgeddon decks and those that rely on getting out creatures fast for a mid-to-early game Overrun. Overall, Harrow costs 2G and is a sorcery, not as fast as Nature's Lore or Rampant Growth, which cost 1G, but it does the filtering process twice and does not take up precious deck space. Another important point about Harrow is that it combines well with creatures such as Harvest Wurm, which upon summoning give you a 3/2 creature for 1G and replaces the land you lost to Harrow or Rogue Elephant. A final word regarding Harrow. Harrow takes up important card space itself and may not help you in the late game. Thus, Harrow is a card that one must use sparingly. Below is a deck listing of a possible deck for Harrow. Enjoy and send me feedback. This deck comes courtesy of a deck played in a small local tournament by my brother Jack.
