Subject: Taking on the Speed of the New T2. Date: Thu, 30 Oct 1997 17:35:32 -0500 From: Jon Yurek Well... I have decided to take on the impossible. :) I've been watching the thread on the incredible speed of the New T2 decks... Prosbloom, Celerity, etc... I thought I might try to make a solid control deck... the only catch would be that I have to use at least *some* Green (You know, not just 2 Mirri's Guiles :)). Moreover, I want to to win... well, ok.. last at least 10 turns againt all of these decks. My first idea was to go walls... Walls of Diffusion, Ice, Roots... but only the roots would be truly useful... so, I could try Emerald Charms, Creeping Mold, Aftershock, Geddon, Repentance, Incins, and **especially** Honorable Passage... 2 or 3 Standard. Stops Drains dead, and will kill vs. Celerity and Sudden Impact, even better against Furnace. However, there is also the way to kill... my first instinct as a green player is creatures, but burn might also be good, barring any passages sided against me, so I guess I won't burn them first game. :) Ok... Hurricane then? :) Well, here's a thought. (I'm kind of making this up off the top of my head, so bear with me. :)) 1.0 4 Wall of Roots 4 Skyshroud Elves 4 Jolreal's Centaur 4 Pincher Beetles 1 Nature's Revolt 1 Harrow 4 Creeping Mold 4 Incinerate 3 Aftershock 2 Avenging Angel ("It won't die!!") 2 Freewind Falcon 4 Pacifism 2 Repentance 1 Helm of Posession 3 Undiscovered 2 Vec Townships 2 Mogg Hollows 2 Scabland 3 Quicksand 3 Mountains 3 Forest 2 Plains No idea of a sideboard yet, but that would probably make or break the deck. -- Jonathan Yurek The Happy Blues Man "Lovely weather today, don't you think?"
