Subject: Re: Voodoo Witch Doctor: Ultra-Rare? When I go to tourneys, I notice that all the people there usually have their decks with exactly the cards that they want in them (with the possible exceptions of Cursed Scrolls and Mox Diamonds). This is because the people have so many resources to get their cards at (and the ones that have scrolls and diamonds usally buy boxes or have friends who buy boxes). That shows that if a person really wants a card, they will always be able to get it. If an Ultra-Rare card is released, it will make a new factor of luck in Magic, which is actually being able to get the cards you need. Look at Jon Finkel. Is he good because he gets awesome packs or always finds the cards he needs? No! He's good because he makes good decks and is a great player. If this ultra-rare "Voodoo Witch Doctor" is released, some scrub might get lucky and find 4 in the only box he was ever going to buy, then buy a few more cards to support this doctor, come to a Pro Tour and smash Jon Finkel and anyone else in his way just because they couldnt get any witch doctors, and be the world champion because he got a lucky box! Do you really want that to happen? No! Making them illegal in standard would be almost as bad, since anyone who opened a pack of Urza's Saga hoping for an Exploration or something else good will get this card that they can't use, and they'll feel ripped off. Yes, it would probably be a collector's item, but how much is the most valuble promo card worth? $15.00? Right. And l the other ones are about $5.00, not even a very good price. So, after hearing all that, do you really want an ultra-rare card that's really good? I didn't think so. -----Jacob Boxer
