Recently, I quoted from a mail the DCI sent in reply to my pointing out that GP Zuerich had been entered into the database twice. In that mail it appeared that I was being asked to pay for the rectification of the problem. Obviously, that has been a misunderstanding: today I received the following mail from the DCI: [quote] Thank you for reporting the duplication of the GP Zurich results. We have removed the duplicated matches from the system and invalidated the event record. All involved player ratings will be updated when we publish ratings again on Monday. As you were informed in the response to your initial query, all fees have been waived due to the nature of the problem. The tournament was mistakenly reported to the DCI under two different event numbers. Gordon Culp Organized Play Database Administrator Wizards of the Coast [unquote] I am truly impressed. THIS is the DCI that we have wanted to have all along. Just thought you might want to publish this. - Arne Bister DCI level II honest fool
