Subject: How to save magic [Issue] Date: Sun, 27 Sep 1998 18:22:26 EDT From: ZeeJustin@aol.com To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com This is an issue I think is EXTREMELY important. So first let me establish my charecter. I play t2 constantly. My wallet is not a fat one so i play online [free] more than in person. However I do go to weekly tournements. I get into the finals about %90 of the time due to my pure skills. OK. I think The Magic Dojo is completely ruining magic. I see people constantly copying decks left and right. I hate this. In other words I see people trading their skills for someone elses left and right. This makes me sick. I think it is much more fun for me to create some black discard deck with pox and red for burn then it is for me to play a basic sligh deck with 3 hammers, 3 fireslingers and the rest being basic. I remember a while ago before The Dojo was big when magic was fun. Serra Angel Stasis decks were pretty popular and all differed atleast 20 cards. It was fun. Now I look at magic. I think it requires the least amount of skill ever. I think that going to the Dojo, copying a deck, changing a few cards and and playing the outcome is not fun at all. I think that any website that lists magic decks are hurting magic. Now let's look at the solution. All people have to do is stop sending in decklists. Also Decks To Beat will have to go. If we can reach a point where all that is printed is environment analysis, combos, and tourney reports that dont include decklists magic will be at a high. This would be like starting from scratch when Urza's Saga comes out and having no decks to copy. SO PLEASE STOP PRINTING DECKLISTS Justin Bonomo ZeeJustin@aol.com
