Subject: Is MAgic Dead ( reply to Ben SMiths Article) Date: Thu, 24 Sep 1998 10:28:57 CST6CDT From: "Dequan A. Watson" To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com dude, I noticed a section of Ben Smiths article abotu magic being all about rares right now. For starters a lot of the stuff people are playing with are commons and uncommons also, here's a short list... Counterspell, disenchant, stalking stones, steel golem, incinerate, fireblast, jackel pup, gemstone mine, dissipate, river boa, wall of blossoms, dauthi horror, dauthi slayer, solrtai priest, soltari monk, man-o-war, uktabi orangutan, cloudchaser eagle and the list goes on. You can't blame the price of cards or the rarirty of card for the reason enthusiasm declines in an area. It is more about atmosphere. If the atmosphere in a play area is strong,t hen players can trade or deal for the cards they want or need. They can get people to help them in building decks or get people to loan them cards. The main reaosn magic declines in any area is the atmosphere, definitely not the state of the game right now. The state of theg ame is fine as it is, it will just take a lot more help from everyone else to keep it going, that's all. DeQuan Watson DragnPowr or PowrDragn on IRC
