Subject: Problem with the environment... Date: Sun, 30 Aug 1998 19:42:32 -0500 From: pvolgas@juno.com (Paul e Volgas) To: fkusumot@ix.netcom.com Issue I do not know where to start really, so, here goes. First: I am very tired of cheaters in the game. I recently played a Apprentice match. (Many actually. This one was, shall I say, special) The guy I was playing attacked me in MY turn. He did this by playing a Recurring Nightmare in his turn (He was playing the Selden deck EXACTLY) and a new Verdant Force on the table. On my turn he sacked the Saproling to recurring, and brought a Spirit of the Night into play. He then, after asking if I countered, (Like I can) attacked me... in my turn. I asked him what he was doing and he told me "Playing the game. What about you?" I explained. (after a few choice words) He then returned the Recurring to the table, put a Saproling back into play, and "forgot" to bury the Spirit. I pointed that out only to be told he forgot. Right. *** Email me if you think that is true. I want to take a count of gullible people :) *** It was a very sad match, and the truth is, there are many people like this. Second: I have noticed a large disrespect for girls playing magic. It's pathetic. They are every bit as talented as you are. (if not more. Some of them DO practice as much as you. Take a minute to fathom this...) Please, show an equal amount of respect to them. *** To those who do, thanks. You are making a good game better...I mean, no girls at a tourney? What fun is that? :) *** Third: I am against net decks, but Alan Comer presented me with a very interesting point: You do not have to agree with the way they are playing/deck they are using. They play the game their way and have fun. You play your style and have fun. If you use net decks, you will (potentially) be at a disadvantage. People can have an unfair advantge by knowing how to win against your deck. If you make your own, please continue to do so. If everyone just used other people's ideas, we would be stuck with Deadguy and Flagpole FOREVER. I personally do not want that. Please, if you make your own, continue to do so. Well, I think I'm done whining. Thanks to Comer. You made a very good point about net decks. I used to hammer and nail people for it... 'cept the ones that lost badly. They got tar and bad magic carded :) Evan Volgas You can email me at pvolgas@juno.com.
