First off i was introduced to magic by my girlfriend(WOW a girl who showed it to a guy), who was show it by her friend(Holy shishkabob there two!!). Now when I first started they were the only two I played with until I found out one of my friends played then everythign changed mind you this was before I moved out or even knew about Pro tours, pre-releases and I became a "competitve" player. we had such creature wars that it was a giant stale mate most of the time with games running to deck death(Theme decks, Sligh, Burn what was that???? i thin we were in the BIG creature phase is why).I mean we had 120 card 5c decks. but we we still learning. After i moved away to school my buddies and I all started to "play" and so began my competitive playing but I would still come home ocasionally to play with my girlfriend( and get my ass kicked). Mainly because once I picked up that competitive spirit she couldn't stand to lose and she kept trying to get better. SO..... The past weekend I took here to the Exodus pre release. Unfortunately this being her first tournament she Kind of held back and tried to go wiht one of her 5c decks again. she ended up going 0-2(1-4) but to say the least she had fun. Now i'm not sure how impressed she was with some of the other players but i have a strange feeling that come release of Urza's Saga she may end up wreaking some havoc on the field. Then again I could be wrong. So as far as competetive spirit, i can tell you that women have more spirit within.... they just have to let the "fire" out... and guys.... Be carefull because if your not careful your going to get burned. The Dark Mage NiteWarrior
