I play mostly local tourneys with a splashing of some major ones, I do farely well, i win about half. I too digress. At a weekly local tournament there are a few girls who play. One of them is a bad player, the other I consider on the same playing level, however, at first I felt bad when running her over. She was a nice girl and I made the prejudgemental mistake of assuming that in being female she had no chance in beating me. I made the prejudment based on the fact she, like the other female players, was playing magic because her boyfriend got her in to it and was using his left over cards. I was wrong, and when playing type II we often trade blows on who wins or not, shes fun to play against, and she is a whole hell of a lot better than her boyfriend. Herself and the much less talented female bring a much more desirable playing atmosphere. Once smelly kids use deoderant! The hairy beast men shave! and I am rewarded with a good player to be challenged with. She offers useful suggestions to my deck, Trades me her boyfriends cards, hehe, and offers other interesting discussions such as web page design, trips to regional tournament reports, etc. I guess the point of this whole long winded going nowhere letter is to point out that theres nothing in testosterone that makes a magic player, just attitude.
