To many sets, new abilities for cards, the pro tour being cluttered by copy cat decks. Well is this it, the gasp of Magic. Or has already gone under and we are all just waiting for it to stop trying to break the surface again. Well in my opinion, magic is not dead. At least not yet anyways. I believe that Magic is really trying to come up with new ideas for the industry, labeling the sets with numbers, changing the cards symbols. Is this enough though to save a Card Game that some have predicted will die soon. No. WotC must change some aspects of the game to save it from its own doom. The first thing they must do is limit the amount of sets coming out to 2 a year. 3-4 is just to much right now. It strains the R&D department as the try to come up sith new ideas to refresh the game that so many love dearly. It is hard enough to keep up with the new sets, but it is even worse when half of the cards should have never been printed. Another way they can help themselves is by listening to the players more often and not closing there minds to the players ideas. Look at green Players have been clamering over decent cards and yet nothing has really shown up. We have a wall that lets us draw cards. Hmmm...so where is are 5/5 flyer for 4. Red has 2 5/5 creatures for 4. Black has 5/5 flyer for 4, a 4/4 for 3, a 4/4 for 2 a 3/2 flyer for 1. Green has a bunch of 5/4 and 4/5 creatures for 4. Give the players what they want. They want power house cards, not wus cards. The DCI and pro tour has to be changed also. We hear how bad these are all the time and we hear how Judges are ripped off or are incompetent. This is not how it should be. Each judge should be required to know all the latest Errata before a Tournament, or have a manual on them for quick reference. If they do this they should then be paid for their services. Free hotel room and travel expenses at the least. Another problem that they should take care of is the cost of Magic. 2.95 for a pack of cards, eck what do you think the markup is on that. 300%? 3000%? It is quite expensive to buy a pack of cards. Lowering the price of cards will not only make most players happy, it will also let more players get into this game that is loved by millions. This is just some of things that are wrong with the game of Magic many more exist. These could be taken care of easily. These are also measures to help save Magic before it is to late. Jeff Fitch
