Subject: Issues RE:Too Many Expansions Date: Fri, 5 Jun 1998 21:11:03 -0700 From: "Marble Quarry" To: I have to agree holeheartedly with Mr. Pocock. I Love Magic! I have been playing since Revised and I still pick up cards and Try to stay up with Type2; however, as of late I cannot keep up. We used to have regular Type 2 tourneys in the area... now sadly None. We used to have Arena in the Area... again gone. Why? Simply there is no way people in my area.. Sonora, Ca... make enough money to keep up. We went from 25 or so players down to 4 or 5 simply when Tempest came in and turned Type 2 on it's ear. We did not lose them because of the Type 2 rotation, we lost the players due to the Schedule of releases and the amount of cash needed to Compete in Type 2. Sure anyone can buy a few packs and have fun... but to Compete it is getting ludicrious! Wizards is losing old school players and gaining Short lived youngsters who will soon find another fad to spend wads of cash on. The comercials and the popularity of the Pro Tour seems to have spured on Wizards to speed up the rate at which they put out sets. I also have to agree with Mr. Pocock in that wizards puts out WAY TOO many Crap cards! Come on I know you designers Playtest the game... give us a break already! Crossbow Ambush puuhhlleeaazzee! They don't all have to be Wrath of God but PLAYABLE is nice. Look at the creatures put out lately, only a handfull will ever really see use. Be daring with most of the cards in a set not just 3 or 4 rares! We magic players who want to continue playing Need to let Wizards know about this, as I am not the Only one who feels this way. E-mail Wizards and let our voices be heard. John Coccaro (Don't bother to flame me as I don't care ;) jcoccaro@yahoo.com
